I treasure the times I have been able to spend with Avie since we first met at boarding school in Fremantle 70 years ago. The times she and Marie spent with our family when they visited our farm during the school holidays and beyond are still vivid memories. Even though in later years, we lived many miles apart we were able to catch up either in the UK or here in Western Australia and renew our friendship. The last time I spent time with Avie was in October 2016 in Perth, albeit only a few hours. She was a picture of health then, so it is so difficult to comprehend that she is no longer with us. Farewell my ear friend, Avie and may you Rest in Peace.
